For this project, I had to come up with a solution for how to celebrate the Borinquen Dance Theatre, and embody all the good work they do. Their mission is to "foster excellence through high expectations while balancing the demands of academic success with the methods of a disciplined rehearsal, training and performance program." They focus on Latin and African style dance, so I wanted to capture the beauty of the costumes and emphasize the importance of movement. I also noticed on their site that, in the Rochester City School District, the graduation rate is only 47%. However, more than 90 percent of Borinquen dancers graduate from high school and go on to college and careers in a variety of professions, so I really wanted to emphasize how dance can help students in other aspects of life.

The project was then used as a piece of a promotional calendar in partnership with students like myself and Cohber.
